Budget Lodging in Sedona
Let's be honest. Nothing much about Sedona happens
on a budget. Even though there is what we call "budget lodging",
it isn't budget lodging by the standards of most of Americans.
Frankly, my theory on this is that Sedona, being
the metaphysically minded place that it is, thinks that budget mindedness
is really an indication of lack consciousness.
Others, however, might postulate that by allowing
budget accomodations would be allowing people into town who are
lacking in fundage and therefore will not be buying art, expensive
bottles of wine, overpriced tourist t-shirts or any of that other
stuff that people from New York try to pawn.
Myself, I work for nobody and not a penny goes into
my pocket - directly - from anything to do with tourism, so I don't
have to worry about anything more than painting my garage door the
right shade of Sedona approved pink. But, heck, that's why this
place is so pretty.
As a quick aside, because I know that you're here
for budget lodging in Sedona, isn't it unbelievable to think that
no new driveway can be paved that is gray. You know, I always thought
concrete was gray, but in Sedona you have to make it a pretty color.
I suppose that's nifty, but it ain't thrifty. But what the heck;
there is a true abundance of color here to be enjoyed.
This Sedona lodging web site suggests a wide range of bed and breakfasts
(not budget) and cabins (some budget), Sedona hotels (mostly not
budget), b and bs and b and bs, resorts (definitely not budget,
though they don't pay their employees squat), and accommodations
with spectacular red rock views, though the views here are what
you pay for and you ain't gonna get 'em with budget lodging. Maybe
you'll get a good view of highway 89A. I like to pretend that traffic
sound is the ocean.
For those who prefer to be right in the heart of the red rocks,
there are many Sedona, Arizona resorts with spectacular views but
most resorts don't fit into a budget lodging scenario and we already
covered the views thing.
But, take heart my friend. There are plenty of great Sedona views
to be enjoyed that don't require a budget at all. Because even though
you and I live in a free country where we aren't free to paint our
garage door the color we like, we can still hike up that damn mountain
and look around.
Voila! Arriba!
Oh, don't forget to check out the Stupa while you're here. It's
pretty cool.
Actually, you might check out the Star Motel for budget lodging.
Good people, reasonable rates. My wife and I stayed there for a
weekend and it was nice to be in the heart of the tourist stuff.
I recommend the Star.
